A newly completed residence on Red Mountain, also known as Billionaire Mountain, has closed for $37.75 million after initially listing for $45 million last winter. Developed by Robert Scannell and his daughter, Lauren Scannell Cooke, the property was finished in March and went under contract in August, ultimately selling furnished.
The 7,200-square-foot home achieved roughly $5,260 per square foot.
Originally purchased in 2017 for $8.4 million, the site was redeveloped into a ground-up modern estate.
Instead of a pool, the design emphasized yard space and a hot tub to suit Aspen’s dog-friendly lifestyle.
The sale follows other record-breaking deals on Billionaire Mountain, including Steve Wynn and Thomas Peterffy’s $108 million purchase.
While Aspen’s ultraluxury market has slowed since the pandemic boom, notable sales like this demonstrate continued demand for premier properties in prime locations.
