Glory Hole Park Gets Accessibility Upgrade in Aspen

Glory Hole Park Gets Accessibility Upgrade in Aspen

The City of Aspen has launched a renovation project at Glory Hole Park running from September 22 through October 3. The work includes repaving trails, redesigning the park entrance, and closing nearby parking during construction. City officials emphasized that accessibility is at the heart of the upgrades, ensuring residents and visitors of all mobility levels can enjoy Aspen’s parks.

  • Glory Hole Park upgrades run Sept. 22–Oct. 3, with weekday parking closures on S. Original St.

  • The new pedestrian path will feature stabilized crusher for a smoother, wheelchair-accessible surface.

  • A redesigned entrance will use 2-inch flagstone pavers for a safer, more welcoming entryway.

  • Accessibility projects are also underway at Wagner Park, Herron Park, and Cozy Point Ranch.

Aspen’s investment in updating its parks highlights a long-term vision for inclusivity and safety. As older park designs evolve, the city is setting a standard for accessibility that benefits the entire community.
