MySpace's heyday may have come and gone—but one lasting symbol of its former success has just been made available to homebuyers in Colorado for the sky-high price of $27 million.
The once-unstoppable social network's former CEO, Michael Jones, has just put his stunning Aspen sanctuary on the market, 14 years after he stepped down from his role at the online company.
Jones, 49, who served as the chief executive at the social media brand between 2010 and 2011, picked up the high-tech home in 2021 for $17.9 million, according to records. However, for much of that time, it served as a rental property, with the monthly asking price as high as $150,000.
The six-bedroom, 6.5-bath home was originally built in 2017, designed by architect Brewster McLeod. Unlike many of the luxurious cabin-style dwellings in the area, this property boasts a modern aesthetic, with an emphasis on the beauty of its natural surroundings.
"Perfectly positioned on a sunlit corner lot in Aspen's coveted West End, this estate was designed by architect Brewster McLeod in 2017 to maximize light, views, and comfort with southeast-facing sightlines framing Aspen Mountain and Shadow Mountain," the listing reads.
The entrepreneur gushed about the property, which was listed on May 28 for $26.9 million, while speaking to Robb Report, telling the outlet that its open floor plan is what initially drew him and his wife, Dr. Jennifer Jones, to the property.
“It’s giant. It had space for all the kids, and our dog could run around. It was really easy to maintain, and I loved the build quality,” adds Jones.
The Joneses began calling the Aspen property home in 2021 after relocating from Los Angeles.
During the four years that the Jones family lived there, they barely renovated and just pulled off a "light refresh", adding only new furniture and light fixtures.
“We’re selling now because the kids are no longer living in the home and we need less space,” he explained.
