Colorado Hotel Dubbed 'One Of Best In World,' According To Travel + Leisure

Travel + Leisure recently published a list of 100 hotels voted to be the best in the world by readers as part of their 'World's Best Awards.' One Colorado hotel made the international list.

Over 186,000 readers took part the 2024 survey to share their opinions on travel experiences. Readers cast more than 700,000 votes across 8,700 aspects of travel, including hotels, cities, cruise lines, and more. Respondents rated hotels on rooms and facilities, location, service, food, and value.

Hotel Jerome, Auberge Resorts Collection in Aspen tied with Nayara Tented Camp in Costa Rica for 57th place, with a reader score of 98.24. The Hotel Jerome is an "Aspen icon with a storied past." The hotel has been Aspen's social hub since it opened in 1889 during the town's silver boom, and survived the silver crash and the Depression. The hotel has seen cowboys enter its doors and 10th Mountain Division soldiers enjoy pints after training.

With 99 rooms and suites, Hotel Jerome also includes restaurants and bars "rooted in the land and rich history of the area." The hotel also has a year-round schedule of activities including horseback riding, fly fishing, rock climbing, snowshoeing, caviar tastings, and more.

Hotel Jerome has 4.4 stars on Yelp, and reviewers rave about its service and ambiance. One reviewer writes that it is "one of the coolest historic spots in downtown Aspen," and describes the atmosphere as "boogie western (Yellowstone) meets New York speakeasy."
