From our Events Team and Mountain Operations to local business owners and volunteers, the entire Aspen Snowmass community is revving up to welcome the Audi FIS Ski World Cup to Aspen the weekend of March 3 through 5. The multi-day event will kick off with an Opening Ceremony in Snowmass Base Village on the evening of Thursday, March 2, complete with athlete appearances, a bib drawing ceremony, and a torchlight parade followed by fireworks. Racing will commence on the morning of Friday, March 3 on Aspen Mountain with the men’s downhill starting at 11:30am. Saturday, the downhill starts at 11am—followed by the awarding of the Roch Cup at Wagner Park, happening 7pm on Saturday. Then, on Sunday, March 5, racers will participate in the super G at 10am. The finish area grandstands, located at the base of Shadow Mountain lift, will open at 10am each race day and are free to the public. Throughout the weekend and just down the hill from the finish line, the Wagner Park Festival will feature musical performances as part of the Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series, as well as a bar, sponsor village, and big screen for viewing the action. Free to all, stop by for food, drinks, athlete meet-and-greets, and much more. As part of Aspen Snowmass’ free Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series, there will be DJs and live music each night of the event at Wagner Park. Black Pistol Fire will get the weekend started on Friday at 7pm. A DJ will perform at 2pm on Saturday, followed by The Moss at 6pm, and Indie rock band Mt. Joy headlining at 7:30pm. A soul-filled performance by The Robert Randolph Band will close out the weekend on Sunday from 4:30 until 8pm. Artists and other acts for the weekend will be announced soon. |
